Cranes

When it comes to cranes, Columbus McKinnon offers a wide range of alternatives. Many of our top distributors are crane builders by trade and supply full overhead bridge crane systems for environments ranging from shipping/receiving to workstations. Complete crane kits marketed under the Yale and Shaw-Box brands feature virtually everything required to build a crane. Included in these kits are single or double girder end trucks, bridge motors, hoist/trolley combination's, a control panel, pendant control, and a festoon system. All of these components are packaged together so that overall assembly time is kept to a minimum. In addition to complete crane kits, individual crane components are readily available. Enclosed track systems and lightweight jibs are marketed under the LodeRail name, while heavy duty jib cranes in various styles are offered in the Abell-Howe brand.

LodeRail Enclosed Track

For applications ranging from a re-design of a work cell as part of Lean initiatives or freeing up floor space as part of an overall efficiency project, LodeRail enclosed track systems offer numerous benefits. These popular systems handle loads up to 4,000 pounds, are easy to install, and may be configured to meet the exact needs of the user. Freestanding models are the most popular, and represent a truly self-supporting crane system. Additionally, LodeRail meets all of the requirements of the Uniform Building Code, Seismic Zone 4, which covers the most severe earthquake prone areas in the USA. In addition to freestanding units, LodeRail is also available as a ceiling mounted system. Enclosed track jib cranes are also available.
